Kate Keshi, wife of former Super Eagles Coach Stephen Keshi, died of cancer, her family has confirmed.
A statement from Emmanuel Ado, on behalf of the Keshi family, confirmed that the 54-year-old lost
her three-year-long fight against the sickness on Wednesday night in the United States.
“With gratitude to God the Family of Mr. Stephen Okechukwu Keshi CON announces the death of our dear wife, mother, daughter, sister Mrs. Kate Keshi née Abureme,” the statement said.
“She died in the United States of America. She has in the last three years battled with cancer. She gave a good fight, until she finally succumbed yesterday.
“She is survived by her husband of 33 years, 4 children, her mother, brother, sisters and numerous
relatives. We ask for prayers for her,” the statement said.
Already, the Nigeria Football Federation has sent out condolences to the Big Boss as the NFF president,
Amaju Pinnick, described the death of Keshi’s wife as a big loss. “Keshi is a Nigerian hero and we mourn deeply with him at this time. This has come like a big blow, but we pray that he receives divine strength to cope with the situation, and we also pray that the Almighty
God will grant the departed eternal
rest,” Mr. Pinnick stated.

The peaceful protest is currently taking place at the NYSC orientation camp in Nasarawa.

According to Mr Esomnofu’s report, the corp members from batch B stream two flooded the camp streets protesting against the poor treatment they have been receiving from the camp commandant, Major O Owodele. The young people, reportedly visibly angry, are requesting the replacement of Major Owodele. The state NYSC coordinator is reported to be presently on the scene of the protest trying to calm the corpers.
The NYSC corp members in Nasarawa state took to the streets today, December 8, 2015, allegedly requesting the replacement of the camp commandant, Major Owodele.
Though the number of people having took to the streets is rather formidable, the protest is going on peacefully; as of now no property has been destroyed or damaged by the corps members.

UPDATE: Peace is gradually returning to the camp after the
NYSC state coordinator has talked to the corp members.
However, according to Arinze Esomnofu’s report, right now
it is the time for evening parade, and the soldiers in
solidarity with the camp commandant, Major O. Owodele,
have refused to come out for it. “Perhaps, this is their own
form of protesting,” says Mr Esomnofu. Moreover, rumours
are going around the camp that the soldiers might decide to
leave the camp premises for they are feeling insulted by the
protest.

Marouane Fellaini admits Manchester United face a “massive
game” against Wolfsburg on Tuesday but believes his side
have already shown the strength of character necessary to
qualify for the Champions League knockout stage.
United travel to the Volkswagen Arena in their final Group B
fixture knowing that only a victory will guarantee them a place
in the round of 16, with the 0-0 draw at home to PSV in their
previous fixture having left them on the brink of an early exit.
Fellaini admits it is a huge fixture for his side, and one which
will require 100 per cent focus.
“In the Premier League every game is different, every three
points is important because at the end of the season you can
win the league. But against Wolfsburg it’s a massive game because it’s qualification for the next round,” Fellaini told Goal .
The Belgium international insists that the Red Devils have what it takes to advance, with the come-from-behind 2-1 home win against Wolfsburg in their Old Trafford meeting in September proving a notable example of their fighting qualities.
“We have the mentality and the character to come back, the spirit, which I think is the most important,” he added. “So we will see, but I think it will be a massive game. We have [already] played against them. But we know it will be a different game because they are playing at home.”
The 28-year-old made only his second Premier League start of the season on Saturday in the 0-0 draw with West Ham, but he insists that his experience at Manchester United remains a positive one and cites the Champions League as a huge part of that. “Of course. It is a big competition playing against great teams, against great players. The rhythm of the game is different to the Premier League, playing more tactically as well. It is a good experience, of course.”
United need to win in Wolfsburg to ensure
progression to the knockout phase, but would go through regardless by matching PSV’s result against CSKA Moscow.

The Indigenous People of Biafra on a Peaceful Protest over
the Arrest of the Director of Radio Biafra yesterday along
Ikwerre road in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
Activities in the commercial city of Aba in Abia State were
yesterday stalled as the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB)
continued its protest for the release of its leader and Director
of Radio Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu.
Though the protest was peaceful, vehicular movement was
grounded as the group marched on double lanes of major
roads. The Aba-Owerri Road, Azikiwe Road, Faulks Road,
Tonimas, Aba-Ikot Ekpene Expressway and other entry and
exit routes were blocked.
It was gathered that the group, yesterday, went round major
markets in Aba and warned traders against opening for
business. The order was obeyed except for shop owners
within streets who though opened, closed down upon
sighting the crowd.
Most public and private schools opened for business though
they said it was a risky gamble owing to the tension in town.
Most proproetors said they could not close as they were preparing for the December break.
Banks witnessed low patronage as only few customers came for business.
Sources said the protesters blocked the Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway and prevented vehicles from entering Aba. The protesters said  they would not relent in their quest to get freedom for Kanu. 65- year-old Jude Iheme, a pastor, said the actualisation of Biafra was revealed to him in a dream and so he would not relent until Biafra was realised.
“I don’t believe in violence or arms bandying because I am a pastor. Since I got a revelation about Biafra, I have been preaching about it everywhere I go and always joined any pro-Biafra protest because we need to be free.”



Another protester said the protest would continue so far the Federal Government refuses to release Nnamdi Kanu, saying that there would be another protest on the next adjourned date of his trial.
“Nnamdi Kanu is our leader, there is no way we will remain quiet while he is facing trial unjustly. How many of the Boko Haram leaders have they arrested and tried?” The protest ,which started at about 7am went on till about 5pm as members of the group
were seen on the streets of Aba still protesting.
Residents have however lamented their loss since the protest started. They said continuing the protest in December, a period regarded as the peak of economic activities would not be in the interest of business owners.
They urged President Muhammadu Buhari and authorities
concerned to seek ways of ending the agitations.
