Drama ensued in Oturkpo as Resident chased away David Mark's contrator, come back after election

Drama ensued in Jericho, a highly populated street in Otukpo area of Benue on Tuesday as residents of the are a chased away contractors, who came to give the street ‘a new look’.

Former Senate President, David Mark who is billed to contest a rerun election next year after being ousted from the sentence by the appellate court had flagged off the reconstruction of five street roads in Otukpo. They include, Ajene, Jericho, Otukpa, Bookshop Road and Chief Entina Road.

Residents, however, asked the contractors to leave saying they were tired of seeing abandoned projects receiving attention only during elections. The enraged residents added that the contractors could return after the elections if really the ousted Senator was sincere with the project. An eyewitness said when the contractor tried to resist the order, some angry youths threatened to beat him up and confiscate his tools.
“He was forced to quit as the people were not ready to let him start the project,” a resident said.
